First King on a fly

Same fly caught both fish yesterday. See more at www.inshorenearshore.blogspot.com.

We also were on those pesky black drum on the west side this week. I managed to catch one when I was expressing my disdain for their snootiness. The fly was lying motionless in the water when, wham, one took off with it.

Crickets?

Anyone out there?

I signed up for a fly swap on the texas kayak fisherman website so I'm obligated to tie 12 crystal shrimp and I'm half way there. When I get them all complete I'll post some images of the set. By the end of this thing I'm hoping my crystal shrimps will be pro.

Also, Bernard has stopped by a few times to tie flies and the last time he came by he brought a rotisserie motor with him that converted into a perfect epoxy fly dryer. I've always dried my spoons by hand one at a time… Continue
